The Hall was gifted to the village, along with the Reading Room, by Thomas Foster Knowles in 1937. In 1955 the New Hall was being used.

Anyone can hire the Hall for a separate fund raising event or personal use.

In 2016 the charges for hiring the Hall are:

4.00 an hour for use by Stainforth residents

6.00 an hour for use by non residents

5.00 an hour for the use of the kitchen

Equipment available includes: tables and chairs, kitchen utensils, crockery, table tennis table, heating, linen etc.

Regular events include:

Coffee morning - every Thursday 10:45

Village Hall teas are held on Sundays before May Day Bank holidays.

Annual Village Barbecue every 2nd Saturday in July.

2019 events



Coffee morning, Saturday 23rd March fund raiser for Avril Palmer's rehabilitation physio. Cake donations would be gratefully received and your support, thank you.  
April fools Bingo, Monday 8th April at 7pm. Venue: The Craven Heifer Hotel, Stainforth. Prizes and raffle. All proceeds in aid of Avril Palmer.  
Village Teas, Sunday 5th May from 1pm. Venue: Stainforth Village Hall. Cake donations and support gratefully received. All proceeds in aid of Village Hall internal decoration.

Garden Party, Sunday 30th June at Ribblesdale House, Stainforth, from 1pm onwards. In aid of The Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Village Hall. Refreshments available.

Special appearance of Paul Sunderland magician for 'mix and mingle magic'


Garden plant stall; cake stall; tombola; face painting; children games

Village BBQ, Saturday 13th July from 5.30pm. Local food, real ale, live entertainment by Ian & Jane Gary. In aid of the Village Hall.
